ELGA Process Water puts 4 in 1 for convenient water treatment

Fast easy installation, straightforward commissioning, minimum space requirements and low running costs are just some of the benefits offered by the new and innovative QUATTRO packaged water treatment system from ELGA Process Water, for the industrial market.

Combining four treatment processes - softening, filtration, reverse osmosis and continuous electro de-ionisation - in a single compact skid-mounted assembly, QUATTRO systems provide a convenient and cost-effective solution for supplying up to 3000 l/h of high purity water (less than 0.7µS/cm conductivity) for applications such as, fine chemicals manufacture, printed circuit board rinsing and chemical dilution.

QUATTRO systems are fully pre-assembled and pre-tested before delivery, ensuring that installation is a virtually "plug-and-play" process, saving more time, and guaranteeing the minimum of on-site disruption.

In operation, a touch-screen operator interface makes the systems particularly easy to use and monitor. Operators can see at a glance flow rates and water quality at critical points in the system, along with alarms and other warnings, and can control the operation of the system simply by touching the screen. Unauthorised access is, however, prevented by a comprehensive range of security features.

Routine maintenance of the systems is simplified by the provision of integral cleaning in place (CIP) facilities.

Since QUATTRO systems use processes based on reverse osmosis and CEDI for water purification, no hazardous chemical regeneration is required. This means that chemicals are not needed for the operation of the systems, cutting running costs and eliminating the inconvenience of having to buy and store potentially hazardous materials.

To further cut running costs, all QUATTRO systems use variable speed pumps for the reverse osmosis stage. Pump speed is automatically reduced when the demand for water is low, saving energy and lowering noise levels. In some instances, this energy-saving feature may help UK users to qualify for a tax rebate under the Enhanced Capital Allowances scheme.

A wide range of configuration options are available for QUATTRO systems, enabling them to be accurately matched to the needs of the user, and ELGA has developed a System Sizing Programme to guide users in selecting the most appropriate options for their particular application.
